Retainers and tattoo

Please read! Your tattoo depends on it!

You must bring your state issued ID or the appointment will be rescheduled at the loss of your deposit.

Clear your tattoo artist about serious illnesses in the first conversation! Only then is it decided whether it is at all possible to tattoo you.

Tattooing during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended and is not practiced with us.

The lawmaker decides that you must be at least 18 years old for a tattoo. Please understand that we can only tattoo you! In exceptional cases we can also tattoo with a written declaration of consent of the parents before the age of 18.

Retainers for tattoos are $100 and must be paid at the time of booking.
The deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE and acts as a hold for the artist and their time.

I charge $150 dollars per hour. The deposit comes off the final price of the tattoo. I will do my best at time of consultation, whether it be through email or in person, to estimate how long it will take, however that is just an estimate and is subject to change.

You must give 72 hours notice to reschedule your appointment. Failing to do so, will result in the loss of your deposit. Canceling your appointment entirely will also result in the loss of your deposit.

Your artwork / reference material must be emailed at the time of booking. Your deposit and appointment are booked for the idea discussed with myself (Antoine Davis/Southpaw Tattoo) at the time of booking. Failing to email reference material on time may result in the loss of your appointment and your deposit.

Your tattoo design will be based off your reference material and not an exact replication as I will provide original artwork unless otherwise specified by client.

For larger and/or custom pieces, you may be contacted prior to your appointment for artwork approval. If you’d like to see your artwork before your appointment, please let us know.

Please let the me know if you have any prior engagements at the time of booking that might interfere with your appointment.

Avoid heavy partying (heavy drinking of alcohol or drug use) at least 48 hours prior to your tattoo session, as well as sun tanning and tanning beds. Get a good night sleep prior to your appointment. The healthier you are before your session, the easier it will be for you and the artist to complete your session.

It is very important that you eat before your appointment. Heavier meals such as pasta, potatoes, etc, and fruit juices will help make your session easier to handle.

Occasionally, due to circumstances I may fall behind schedule. This can be caused by a number of uncontrollable issues. If you are on a tight schedule, feel free to call the shop before your appointment to see how the day is going.

Under no circumstance are children allowed to sit and wait while their parents receive any kind of service. We are a professional studio, not a babysitting service. Please do not bring your kids to your tattoo appointment.

Cell phones of any kind must be put on silent before entering the tattoo studio. They are a distraction to the artists.

If you’d like to listen to music/watch videos on your phone/ipod during your appointment, please remember to bring headphones as to not distract the artists.

Remember to wear/bring appropriate clothing to your tattoo appointment (shorts, sweatpants, beaters, etc) so that the area being tattooed is easily accessible to the artist.

Due to the size of the tattoo studio, you are only allowed 1 other person to accompany you. Friends and family are great but they can be a distraction to the artist.

Healing time for most tattoos is 2-3 weeks. During these 2-3 weeks, you’ll need to avoid tanning beds and sun tanning as well as lakes, pools, hot tubs, baths (quick showers are ok) and any other body of water where bacteria may be present. Do your best not to over expose the area of your body that has been tattooed. If you are unsure, please call and ask.

I am not held responsible for tattoos healing poorly, loss of color, infection, and any otherwise unnatural abnormalities or problems due to poor aftercare practices by client.

Although guidelines to heal a tattoo vary from shop to shop, it is highly recommended that you follow our aftercare process. Failure to do so may result in a tattoo that does not show your idea or the artist’s work properly. Our healing guidelines are set for a reason.

Communication is important. If you have any questions during before, during, or after your tattoo, feel free to ask.

Please come on time! If you should be late, just call me! Otherwise, I reserve the right not to perform the appointment or only to shorten the appointment.
